OFFICE CHAIRS

Correctly adjusted office chairs promote correct posture, reduce the risk of back pain and increase overall comfort. Such features as height adjustment, forward tilt, recline, lumbar support, armrests and headrests together ensure optimum comfort and proper body support.

The variety of chairs is staggering: different colours, fabrics, mechanisms; designed for children, teenagers, women only or for the whole family. Particular care should be taken when choosing chairs where you spend a lot of time – for computer work, for the workroom or for the office, if you have a specific sitting job.

Work chairs are commonly equipped with contact, tilt, synchronous and multi-block control mechanisms: An office chair with a contact mechanism has a low degree of adjustability. The only detail that can be adjusted to the shape of your body is the angle of the backrest of the office chair, which can be adjusted by a knob. This chair is recommended for short periods of sitting of 4 to 6 hours.

The computer chair with synchronous mechanism is our most popular product – it is the most comfortable and the best suited for long periods of 8 hours. Thanks to this office chair mechanism, the reclining angle of the backrest can be adjusted and the seat moves with the backrest (at a certain angle). Thanks to this mechanism, it is possible to sit comfortably by locking it at the desired angle or to let the back of the office chair move freely, gently rocking.

The multi-block mechanism is found in office chairs where the seat and backrest are connected. With the help of a knob, such an office chair can be left to swing gently or locked in its working position. Chairs with a bridge mechanism adjust the height of the chair and are usually special purpose or visitor chairs. Office chairs with a bridge mechanism are recommended for short periods of sitting of up to 4 hours.

  • The back of the office chair is properly adjusted, when it provides adequate support for the lumbar region of the occupant’s back.
  • The depth of the seat of the chair is adequate when there is a gap of approximately 4 cm between the front of the seat and the legs of the user.
  • It is important that you can adjust the height of the office chair to the height of the person who is sitting. The height of the office chair is appropriate when the knees are at a right angle of 90 degrees to the floor and the hips.
  • The arms of a computer chair are well adjusted when the elbows of the arms are at a right angle of 90 degrees to the desk when seated. *For children we recommend office chairs without arms.
  • It is important that the sitter’s back can remain active even during work. You could choose an active seating chair and combine work with breaks for physical activity.
